OptLA - Option study of the technical teaching profession
A successfully completed bachelor’s degree in Engineering Education at the University of Applied Sciences in Mittweida or Zwickau provides a pathway into a career in education and the opportunity to continue studies in the “Teacher Education Program for Vocational Schools” at TU Dresden. The IngPäd+ program is particularly appealing to individuals with an interest in commercial and technical fields or professional experience who wish to earn qualifications in engineering and education close to home. After earning a bachelor’s degree, students can continue their studies in the “Teaching at Vocational Schools” program at TU Dresden. This program also offers individuals with a vocational college entrance qualification the opportunity to enter the teacher training program without a general college entrance qualification.
The IngPäd+ study option
Through a collaboration between Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau, and TU Dresden, the Bachelor’s program in Engineering Education (IngPäd) has been implemented at both institutions. Graduates of this degree program have the opportunity to enter the “Teacher Training – Vocational Schools” degree program at TU Dresden with simplified admission requirements. The structure and implementation of the bachelor’s program, as well as the organization of the transition into the teacher education program, were planned jointly and are carried out in close coordination.
This program option also offers individuals with a vocational college entrance qualification the opportunity to enter the teacher training program without a general university entrance qualification.
