History of open-air seminarroom
On October 25, 2017, the "Green Seminar Room" was inaugurated on a green area at the Weberplatz building by the Rector of the TUD, Prof. Hans Müller-Steinhagen and the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Friedrich Funke. "Green seminar room" means that a seminar room equipped with all common standards with blackboard, tables and benches was built in the green. This outdoor space design is intended to inspire students to develop new school teaching and learning concepts. Especially in view of the university school of the TU Dresden, where innovative forms of teaching, learning and living together are developed, tested and scientifically evaluated, the "Green Seminar Room" offers interesting possibilities for the development of new teaching formats. The "Green Seminar Room" will be available for teaching and other events for all to use. It has space for about 30 people and is equipped with weather-resistant outdoor systems and a projection screen. The idea for the project came from student Anne Noack from the student council for vocational education. The project was implemented under the auspices of the TU Dresden's Department of Real Estate, Technology and Security.
The costs of around 40,000 Euros were financed by the "Quix" campaign. "Quix" was a program that accompanied the Excellence Initiative and served to improve study conditions.
All "Quix" projects, which totaled more than 250,000 Euros, were based on ideas from students.
