Archive: Reading of Nora Kellner's "OpferMacht"
Nora Kellner sitzt auf der Bühne des Klemperer-Saal und liest aus ihrem Buch "OpferMacht".
On 15 May 2023, a reading by former TU Dresden graduate of our faculty, Nora Kellner, who published her book "OpferMacht - Klartext reden über sexualisierte Gewalt" in spring, took place in the Klemperer Hall of the SLUB. The book deals with sexualized violence, which is omnipresent in all social structures. Nevertheless, there is a taboo on addressing this all-encompassing problem. This taboo is not least due to the prevailing culture of silence. Nora Kellner analyzes why victims remain silent and how this is manifested and reproduced.
After the opening of the event by the Equal Opportunities Officer of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, Ms. Caroline Friedrich, the author read selected chapters of her book.
What part do cis men play in this problem? What responsibility do they bear in a system that plays down rape culture? And how can those affected by sexualized violence be supported? Nora Kellner broke down these and many other questions from an intersectional perspective. Following the reading, Lisa-Marie Darras moderated the Q&A session, during which the audience were able to clarify any uncertainties, discuss the topic and share some personal experiences.
The equal opportunities team would like to thank Nora Kellner, the SLUB and all interested parties who took part in the event.
