Invitation: First Saxon-Mongolian Research Day
Mongolia and Germany are closely linked by a long and fruitful history of scientific cooperation. This is particularly true of Saxony, which is roughly the same size in terms of today’s population figures, albeit not in terms of area. The year 2026 marks the centenary of the Mongolian state – which at that time had only recently gained sovereignty – sending its first students to Germany, particularly to Saxony.
To mark this anniversary, the First Saxon-Mongolian Science Day will take place on Friday, October 23, 2026. The event will focus on collecting interdisciplinary research ideas in preparation for a DFG cluster on the multi-perspective analysis of Mongolia’s transformation challenges. All interested parties, students and staff alike, are cordially invited to participate.
