Long Night Against Procrastination – 5 March 2026
Dear students, dear doctoral candidates,
On Thursday, March 5, from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., this year's big online event, the Long Night against Procrastination, will once again take place, focusing on academic writing for students and doctoral candidates.
Participation is free of charge and registration is possible at any time until the day of the event via the event platform Eveeno [https://eveeno.com/lange-nacht].
Throughout the evening, five online conference rooms will host interactive lectures and workshops lasting 45 to 90 minutes each on (almost) all aspects of academic writing, ranging from how to use reference management software and AI research assistants to correct referencing and practical techniques to kickstart your writing process. While most oft them will be in German, three workshops will be held in English, targeting internationel students and their writing process specifically. The virtual writing room invites you to turn the night into text and continue working on your own texts. During the breaks, you can relax and recharge your batteries with yoga.
The detailed program and further information can be found on the SLUB website for the Long Night of Writing [https://www.slub-dresden.de/mitmachen/slub-textlab/lange-nacht-des-schreibens]. Events in English are marked.
The Long Night against Procrastination is organized and designed by a network of writing centers and libraries throughout Germany, including the SLUB and the TUD|Writing Center.
Let’s turn the night into text!
Best regards and see you at the Long Night of Writing on March 5,
