Colloquium in the Winter Semester
In the 2026–27 winter semester, we will once again welcome exciting guests to the colloquium who will share insights into their current research projects: Julia Hasselhorn (Frankfurt/Göttingen), Jonathan Steuer (Freiburg), Sarah von Hagen (Göttingen), Kate Shore (Oxford), and Stefanie Rüther (Frankfurt am Main). Topics range from communication strategies around 1800 and the media reception of major events to the history of the Imperial Court Council, firearms, and the concept of “xenocracy” in relation to British rule in Madras.
In addition, students will present their works in progress, and a new lecture series will focus on the “Presence of the Pre-Modern Era.”
The colloquium takes place on Thursdays during the 7th double period (6:30–8:00 p.m.) in the Zellescher Weg office building (BZW/A153/U); the dates for the lecture series differ slightly from this schedule. The complete program and further information can be found here.
