The "Dictionary of Cistercian Saints" is currently being compiled as a handbook-like directory of all members of the Cistercian communities who are venerated as saints. For the first time, a scholarly overview of these people is being compiled.

The project examines the invective forms of communication in Italian and German humanism, in which they played an important role. It pursues the questions of what function the humanist invectives had with regard to group formation processes, how they shifted the boundaries of communication and in what way they influenced the reformatory debates.

The research project "Heilseffizienz aus Gemeinschaftssinn" (Healing efficiency through a sense of community) analysed the religious practice of the Brotherhood of the Rosary and evaluated it in comparison to other brotherhoods of the late Middle Ages. In the process, it was possible to work out that the Rosary Brotherhood was able to offer its members the prospect of a far more efficient form of afterlife care against the background of a new concept of organisation: Unlike the previous brotherhoods, the Rosary Brotherhood was no longer locally bound, but operated transregionally in an innovative way.
