What is History about? Dresden-Düsseldorf Talks on Past and the Present
In this series, Prof. Dr. Dagmar Ellerbrock (Chair of Modern and Contemporary History, TU Dresden) and Prof. Dr. Heiner Fangerau (Chair of History, Theory, and Ethics of Medicine, HHU Düsseldorf) jointly welcome a historian who has made a name for themselves with their ideas, approaches, and interpretations. Just as the “Blue Sofa” is to the literary world, the Dresden-Düsseldorf Conversations aim to become for the field of history.
We ask our guests: Why and how did they come to history? Drawing on their personal biographies and scholarly contributions, we discuss the social significance of history and historical scholarship.
The event series is organized by TU Dresden and Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and takes place in cooperation with the SLUB Dresden and the Haus der Universität Düsseldorf.
