Irene Schütze
Irene Schütze is Extraordinary Professor of Art Theory at the Kunsthochschule Mainz, Johannes Gutenberg University. For many years she has been working on authorship, the use of materials and concepts of art. Her current research interest is (decolonial) Eco-Art. She deals with materialities and media practices of artistic engagement. She is particularly interested in speculative scenarios of ecological systems. Theoretically and methodologically, she works in the context of New Materialism and Posthumanism. Together with Christiane Heibach and Angela Krewani, she publishes the series Ecology - Culture - Society | Ökologie - Kultur - Gesellschaft at nomos-Verlag.
