Jessica Ullrich
Jessica Ullrich is a deputy professor of art studies and aesthetics at the Kunstakademie Münster. She previously taught Human-Animal Studies at the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg and Art Studies at the UdK Berlin. She has held lectureships or visiting professorships at universities in Berlin, Frankfurt, Flensburg, Graz and São Paulo.
Her core research areas include critical posthumanism, ecocriticism, environmental art and, above all, animal studies. Animals in contemporary art and the associated aesthetic, (art) philosophical, ethical and ecological discourses are at the center of her research activities. She has published widely on this topic, curated exhibitions and organized conferences. She is the editor of Tierstudien published by Neofelis-Verlag.
