Jesús Muñoz Morcillo
Jesús Muñoz Morcillo is an art historian and classical philologist at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He studied in Salamanca, Würzburg and Karlsruhe. From September 2019 to June 2020, he was a Research Fellow at the Getty Research Institute, where he participated in the Getty Scholar Program on "Art and Ecology". For spring 2026, he received a Clark Fellowship to study Peter Paul Rubens' landscape paintings from an ecocritical perspective. His research has been funded by the DAAD, the DFG, the Volkswagen Foundation and the KIT Foundation, among others. He is the lead editor of the forthcoming volume Images of Eco-Futures (Routledge, 2026), which examines how ecological perspectives are created, adapted or disseminated through contemporary and historical artworks.
