Svetlana Chernyshova
Dr. Svetlana Chernyshova is a Research Associate at the Institute for Art History at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. She completed her doctorate in Media and Cultural Studies as part of the DFG Research Training Group "Materiality and Production" with a thesis on the exhibition as a mode of existence, which examines exhibitions from an ecological perspective as a structure of specific milieus, practices and situational configurations. Her teaching and core research areas include exhibition practices in contemporary art, image theory and the concepts of destruction, intimacy and corporeality in (post-)digital contexts. She is currently researching (post-)digital image politics and aesthetics, including the topic of numbers as aesthetic-political formations and the extractive image.
