Study programmes
Teacher training - Lehramt (LA)
TU Dresden offers the following training and degree programmes for prospective religious education teachers ( Amendments to the degree programmes are planned for the 2023/24 winter semester):
- Higher teacher training at grammar schools (Lehramt an Gymnasien) with the subject Catholic Religion and a standard period of study of 10 semesters
- Higher teacher training at vocational training schools (Lehramt an Berufsbildenden Schulen) with the subject Catholic Religion and a standard period of study of 10 semesters
- Teacher training at secondary schools (Lehramt an Oberschulen) with the subject Catholic Religion and a standard period of study of 9 semesters
- Teacher training at primary schools (Lehramt an Grundschulen) with the subject Catholic Religion and a standard period of study of 8 semesters.

Kombinationsstudiengang Bachelor Geistes-, Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaften (neu zum WS 2023/24)
Katholische Theologie kann im Rahmen des Kombinationsstudienganges B.A. Geistes-, Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaften als 1. und als 2. Hauptfach studiert werden. Der Bachelor bietet vielfältige Kombinationen mit Fächern aus dem Bereich der geisteswissenschaftlichen, sozialwissenschaftlichen und sprach-, literatur- und kulturwissenschaftlichen Fächer.
Als Vertiefung und Erweiterung des 1. Hauptfaches Katholische Theologie kann auch das 2. Hauptfach Katholische Theologie interdisziplinär gewählt werden.
Katholische Theologie kann außerdem als 2. Hauptfach des fachwissenschaftlichen Bachelorstudienganges Sprach-, Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaften studiert werden.
Master in Theology
At TU Dresden it is not possible to do a Master's degree in Theology, but our Institute is part of the Master in Classical Studies.
