Profile of the Institute
The Institute of Political Science is dedicated to the examination, research and communication of political processes, phenomena and theories and all political phenomena and actions of human life in the broader sense.
Structurally, this debate is reflected within the Institute in the following sub-disciplines: Political Theory and History of Ideas; Political Systems and System Comparison; International Relations; Didactics of Political Education; Legal and Constitutional Theory; Methods of Empirical Social Research. - See Chairs.
The aim is to provide students on the various degree programs with an introduction to the history of political thought and modern political science theories and to give them a sound knowledge of the structural principles, institutions and functional logic of political systems and international relations. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on social science methodology, empirical political research and a well-founded examination of didactic issues. - See also: Studies.
