With the start of the summer semester 2024, Prof. Dr Elvira Rosert has taken over the interim professorship for political science with a focus on international politics at TU Dresden. She will stand in for the chair holder Prof. Dr. Anna Holzscheiter for one year.
Previously, Prof Dr Rosert had been a visiting professor for International Relations at the Center for Transnational Relations, Foreign and Security Policy at the Free University of Berlin since the winter semester 2022/2023. Otherwise, She is a junior professor of political science, in particular international relations, at the WiSo Faculty of the University of Hamburg and at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (IFSH).
With peace and progress as her guiding interests, she researches and teaches on international norms. In particular, she focuses on the preservation and promotion of human security in all its aspects, e.g. in the context of international humanitarian law, arms control and disarmament as well as (global) health policy. Her work also focuses on international institutions (especially the United Nations), as well as research designs and research methods.
Since October 2021, Prof Dr Rosert has been the elected co-spokesperson of the "International Relations" section of the German Political Science Association (in a team with Prof Dr Tanja Börzel, PD Dr Simon Koschut and Dr Matthias Kranke).
