#36 Children's compartment 2.0
Many trains in Germany have children's compartments where families can spend a playful time during a long train journey. That's great! And we came up with the question for today's Idea Pool article: Why are there always only "stupid" toys in the children's compartment (if at all)? Perhaps it's more the compartment itself, where people can be loud without being disturbed, and less the toys that invite you to spend your travel time here.
When we at JoDDiD think about what material should also be found in the children's compartments, the following comes to mind. For example, there are wonderful children's books or card games that deal with political issues. Perhaps Deutsche Bahn could get in touch with the Federal Agency for Civic Education to see if a joint project could find a few more valuable materials that could be kept ready for very different children in this special place. These would certainly be appreciated extensively - including small conversations between strangers. The traveling families certainly spend more than enough time here.
