Erik Vollmann in Süddeutsche Zeitung and Deutschlandfunk on the lack of candidates in the local elections
Erik Vollmann, research associate at TU Dresden, spoke to Süddeutsche Zeitung and Deutschlandfunk about the consequences of the lack of candidates in the local elections.
In the Deutschlandfunk podcast “Deutschland heute”, he spoke about the reasons why the lack of candidates in eastern Germany is affecting all parties. The AfD and BSW in particular were unable to fill many of the seats they won in the city councils.
The consequences of this for political practice and the majority situation can be heard here (german only).
He spoke to the Süddeutsche Zeitung about the specifics of the lack of candidates in local elections with regard to the AfD, why it is particularly affected by the lack of candidates and what impact the situation has on local democracy.
