Strong representation of the chair’s research at the ECPR Joint Sessions 2022, Edinburgh
The ECPR Joint Session are a major hub focusing on in-depth discussion and creating links between contemporary research agendas. The Chair of Comparative Politics did represent TU Dresden’s Political Science community with two research desiderates.
Marianne Kneuer, Professor of Comparative Politics, brought together an international group of researchers in her co-organized Joint Session Workshop working on comparative analyses of sovereignism. In her own contribution, she analyzed Sovereignism in reaction to crises.
Erik Vollmann, Research Associate at the Chair, discussed with international colleagues how authoritarian regimes try to positively market their rule towards their citizens and the international community. He presented attempts of the Moroccan an Tunisian regimes to legitimize themselves through the framing of subnational governance and reforms in media discourse.
