New videocast on "Navigating Noise" online (Eryk Salvaggio in conversation with Jasmin Höning)
In the newly published videocast on "Navigating Noise", artist and scientist Eryk Salvaggio and Jasmin Höning (Schaufler Kolleg@TU Dresden) talk about the concept of the "Age of Noise", which refers to a critical image of generative AI systems as filters, producers and amplifiers of noise. Building on this, two closely interwoven focal points will be discussed: Critical AI Literacy and Salvaggio's artistic practice. The focus was on myths and narratives surrounding AI - such as ideas of control, creativity or productivity - as well as their social and political effects. The role and positioning of artists who use AI in a reflected manner, reject it or misuse and misappropriate it in a targeted manner in order to make power structures and aesthetic and epistemic boundaries visible were also discussed.

About the videocast format:
The Schaufler Kolleg@TU Dresden has created an innovative videocast format that brings the project's focus on data↔worlds to life in a new way. In conversations, our doctoral students meet artists and scientists and explore the interfaces between art, research and digital society together. The format opens up diverse perspectives on the use of data in our time - critical, creative and interdisciplinary.
