Panel Presentation "The Recent Upsurge of the Manifesto, or: Who Owns the Means of Disruption?" at the annual DGfA Conferenz in Rostock, Germany
Professor Carsten Junker gives a talk titled “The Recent Upsurge of the Manifesto, or: Who Owns the Means of Disruption?” at the panel “Copyright, Cultural Production, and Objects of Ownership: Examining Legal, Cultural, and Literary Manifestations of Ownership in the Cultural Sphere” at the 67th Annual Convention of the German Association for American Studies. The theme of the conference was America and Ownership: Territory, Slavery, Jubilee, and it took place at the University of Rostock, Germany, from 07/01 until the 07/03/23. Carsten Junker argues that the genre of the manifesto and the upsurge in publications by fulfilling the conditions of 'acceptability' is now an expression of a post-postmodern sensibility seeking to again stabilize the subject after postmodern deconstructions.
