About us
The research and teaching objectives of the Center for Italian Studies (CIS) / Centro di Studi Italiani (CSI) include:
1. the promotion of scientific cooperation between the TU Dresden and universities and research centers in Italy and elsewhere as well as the establishment and maintenance of cooperation with bilateral, disciplinary and interdisciplinary research projects and research groups.
2. the conception, acquisition and the realization of research and teaching projects related to Italy within the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and, when possible, the support of such projects within other Departments of the TU Dresden;
3. the conception and realization of scientific lectures, workshops, conferences etc. related to Italy;
4. the promotion and expansion of the Italian-related teaching program at the TU Dresden, e.g. through guest lectures, visiting professors or researchers and lecture series;
5. the support to the conception and implementation of double degree programs between the TU Dresden and Italian universities.
Our dissemination objectives include:
1. the promotion of the transfer of knowledge to the general public as well as the selective cooperation with social actors from culture, education, politics, administration, economy etc.;
2. the promotion of cultural contacts between educational and cultural institutions in Saxony and Italy, the organization of cultural events related to Italy such as lectures and exhibitions;
3. finally, joint events with cultural institutions in Dresden and in Germany.
