Our profile
Chair of Contemporary German Literature and Didactics of German
German didactics deals with processes of acquisition, appropriation and the teaching of skills in dealing with language and literature. On the one hand, it researches and reconstructs these processes, on the other hand, it takes a theoretical stance on questions of norms and finally, it designs concrete teaching-learning processes on this basis.
German didactics focuses on the subject matter, the learners, the teachers and the specific teaching situation in which they come together. The networking of different disciplinary perspectives of linguistics and literary studies, pedagogy, psychology and sociology is fundamental to this.
The aim of teaching didactics of German language and literature at TU Dresden is to create the prerequisites for reflective, scientifically sound and independent action in German lessons. The acquisition of knowledge about linguistic and literary learning and teaching processes and their institutional framework conditions should always be linked to the reflection of concrete teaching situations (own experiments, transcripts, etc.). Our core research areas are in the field of didactic professionalization research and the investigation of literary comprehension processes. Central questions are, for example: What specific dimensions of knowledge characterize the professionalism of teachers in German lessons? Which text and reader characteristics determine aesthetic reception processes?
