Brief profile and research focus

German didactics at TU Dresden researches the understanding processes of learners and the beliefs of teachers at schools and universities. In addition, teaching-learning processes at extracurricular learning venues are designed and reflected upon. The aim of teaching is to create the prerequisites for reflective and well-founded action in German lessons.

Holder of the professorship

Prof. Dr. Dorothee Wieser has held the Chair of Modern German Literature and Didactics of the German Language since the summer semester 2014.

Employees at the professorship

The professorship team consists of dedicated and dynamic members of staff working in teaching and various projects. Our team is supported by student assistants and cooperation partners in schools, theaters and other extracurricular places of learning.

German didactics: Construction - Reconstruction - Norm issues

On the one hand, it researches and reconstructs these processes, on the other hand it takes a theoretical stance on questions of norms and, finally, it designs concrete teaching-learning processes on this basis.
German didactics focuses on the subject matter, the learners, the teachers and the specific teaching situation. The networking of different disciplinary perspectives of linguistics and literary studies, pedagogy, psychology and sociology is fundamental to this.
