Language workshop - Fit for everyday university life
A new peer to peer support service for international students
Are you studying at TU Dresden and sometimes wonder
- whether the AI-generated translation of your email to your professor is really linguistically appropriate?
- how you can prepare for a presentation or oral exam with confidence?
- how to defend your Master's thesis in German, even though you have hardly ever taken oral exams in German?
- what colloquial expressions such as "yo diggah" mean - and how you can easily strike up a conversation with German-speaking fellow students?
- how to present yourself convincingly in job interviews?
- or why the explanations of your examination regulations remain unclear despite digital aids?
Perhaps you simply want to improve your oral German skills - for seminars, presentations, exams or your future career entry.
The language workshop supports you with language challenges in everyday university life - practically, interactively and in a relaxed atmosphere.
Our aim
We want to empower international students to
- communicate confidently and self-assuredly in German
- differentiate between and use formal and informal forms of communication
- prepare presentations and speeches in seminars linguistically
- practise typical conversational situations at the university
- overcome linguistic hurdles when applying for jobs or dealing with university formalities
- integrate better linguistically both in their studies and in everyday social life
The focus is on playfully practicing real situations from everyday university and professional life. Together we train typical communication situations and develop your oral skills in a targeted manner.
