Staatsschaus­piel Dresden is looking for bilingual translators for German and French

BILINGUAL TRANSLATOR:IN WANTED FOR GERMAN AND FRENCH

The Staatsschauspiel Dresden is looking for a German- and French-speaking transl ator to support the development of the text material for the inclusive theater production NEUER VERSUCH. The French theater makers Guillaume and Clément Papachristou will develop this production as directors and authors in collaboration with the play ensemble at Staatsschauspiel Dresden. Improvisation and the personal perspectives of the participants on the topics of inclusion, life with and without disabilities and artistic encounters will form part of the working process. The topic of translation also plays a role on various levels: between foreign languages, between forms of articulation, between different forms of artistic expression.
To this end, a person is being sought to accompany the rehearsal process, take notes of the resulting text material, translate it into French for the working process and translate the director's adaptation back into German for the German-speaking ensemble. You will be part of the artistic process and the diverse research journey of this inclusive theater production on and behind the stage, which will be performed in the repertoire of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden after its premiere at the end of September 2026.

It is not yet clear whether support will be needed for the entire rehearsal period, but certainly in June and August.
The rehearsal periods are:
June 15 - 26, 2026 / August 13 - 26, 2026 / September 07 - 26, 2026
Premiere: September 26, 2026
