Dear students, dear colleagues and interested parties,
the network of university France and Francophonie centers in Germany cordially invites you to the digital event series in the summer semester 2026
"European Francophonie: History, Present, Perspectives".
The series is dedicated to the European Francophonie as a multi-layered European space of experience and focuses on historical developments as well as current dynamics and future perspectives. In an interdisciplinary dialog, it brings together contributions from literary and cultural studies, linguistics, history and its didactics as well as language and education policy.
The focus is on the question of how Francophonie is constituted within Europe beyond nation-state frameworks: as a space of linguistic variation and cultural negotiation, as an object of political and didactic reflection and as a field of literary and social practices and discourses. The program combines different event formats - including lectures, readings, workshops and a themed study day - which will be held digitally or in hybrid form.
