General information
Basic idea: Starting a degree course is often difficult and it is particularly difficult to separate the important from the unimportant. Metacognition is the principle on which our tutorial program is based: Knowing what you are doing and what it is good for. Understanding what is required in the course, content, methods, formats, structures, etc.
Implementation: Students from higher semesters explain, inform and prepare courses. They give tips and know exactly how the subject matter can be consolidated and deepened. In the tutorial on academic writing, you will gain an insight into the logical, stylistic and formal criteria of academic writing and will be supported in the preparation of term papers.
Compulsory attendance: According to the study regulations, the tutorials are an integral part of the course for the teacher training courses with a state examination degree (from winter semester 2021) and the Bachelor's degree courses (from summer semester 2021) in Romance Studies. Participation in them is strongly recommended by the professors of the Institute.
Contents
The tutorial program of the Institute of Romance Studies is intended to provide needs-based study support for a better understanding of academic practice. From the introductory course onwards, students are accompanied by a firmly institutionalized tutorial program by student tutors and thus have contact persons during their studies. The abundance of specialist tutorials will be better coordinated in terms of timing and content, and common standards for academic work will be taught. Students can contact the central advice center at any time with their questions and problems. Tutorial training ensures quality. Redundancies and duplications are avoided, thus creating more incentives to take advantage of the offers.
Acquisition of the participation certificate
After successful participation in at least 3 tutorials per Romance language studied, the coordination of the tutorial program can issue a corresponding certificate of attendance. This certificate must be enclosed with the student handbook when registering for the final examination.
The following information must be sent to the coordinator by email:
- Full surname and first name
- Degree program/subject/subject combination
- matriculation number
- List of tutorials attended, name of tutor, semester and year.
The coordinator will inform you by email when and where you can collect your certificate of attendance.
