About the Conference
Due to the war in Ukraine, a Ukrainian academic landscape has emerged in Germany within a short period, largely supported by the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation. The Humboldt-Netzwerk & PSI-Meeting "Synergy and Entropy in the Ukrainian Scientific Landscape in Germany" at the Technische Universität Dresden aims to promote exchange between more than 40 research fellows sponsored by the Humboldt Foundation (PSI, MSCA4Ukraine, AvH Digital Cooperation). It will include networking, sharing experiences and a presentation of projects in the above mentioned sections.
Workshops
The conference will hold three workshops that will promote further exchange of opinions among all the conference participants on the topics: (i) Conducting empirical sociological web research with Ukrainians during the war: implementation experience in Ukraine and Germany (Dr. Yeliena Kovalska, MSCA4Ukraine Fellow, Konstanz University); (ii) The integration of Ukrainian Slavic studies into the scientific space of Germany: the stereotypical perception of Germany and the real experience of Ukrainians (Prof. Dr. habil. Nataliia Kondratenko, Odessa National I. I. Mechnikov University); (iii) Humboldt-Network and Sustainability of Research and Higher Education Landscapes in Ukraine (Prof. Dr. Leonid Boshkov, Odessa National University of Technology).
The key issue of the Round Table "Ukrainian Scientific Landscape in Germany before & after 24 February 2022" is whether the special situation since 2022 has produced synergetic effects in sciences and the humanities both within Germany and in exchange with Ukraine, or whether divergent tendencies of entropy can be observed.
