"Digital Humanities" (Master)
Registration
Please register your Master's thesis digitally at the Examination Office. Please use the Master's thesis registration form and submit it with all (digital) signatures to the Examination Office by email. You will then receive the submission deadline and further information from the Examination Office.
Submission
Contrary to the stipulations in the examination regulations, the Examination Board of the Master's in Digital Humanities has approved digital submission for theses until further notice - especially as an option to meet the deadline.
Of course, it is also possible to submit printed copies and files of the thesis (as described in the examination regulations) at any time. This is possible in person after booking an appointment via the appointment booking form or by sending it by post or TU Dresden's internal mail.
Send an e-mail to the Examination Office() by midnight on the specified submission date at the latest and attach your thesis as a PDF file.
As a second attachment to your e-mail, please send us a scan/photo of the back of the "Information sheet for the preparation of the thesis". This is an additional signed declaration of independence for your examination file and a declaration as to whether you allowthird parties toinspect your work.
Please check whether we have already received confirmation from your second assessor. If not, please also attach this proof (signature on the admission form or e-mail). Please do not send the thesis to your reviewers at the same time! They will officially receive the file with your thesis from us.
Subsequent submission of one or two printed copies would only be necessary for digital submission if one or both reviewers insist on the printed form because they cannot/do not want to read the work on screen. However, we will inform you of this after you have submitted your work. If you choose this form of submission, please do not send us any additional print copies for the time being.
As an alternative to digital submission, you can submit printed copies by post or via the deadline mailbox.
What do I need to consider here?
Please email the file with the work for the reviewers, archiving and, if necessary, for meeting the deadline to and then submit it additionally:
- Two bound copies, each with a bound declaration of independence* with original signature
- An additional declaration of independence* with original signature for the examination file
(*Formulation according to the information sheet, which is issued with the application) - If applicable, the missing confirmation from your second assessor
By post: If you send the thesis by post, the postmark is valid to meet the deadline. Please send us a scan/image of the proof of posting by e-mail after posting the thesis.
Postingin the deadline letterbox: The deadline letterbox (see site plan) is generally emptied between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on all working days. Mail below the flap is stamped with the last working day's postmark and anything above the flap is stamped with the current date. Please use an envelope for your work on which you note the exact address (School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Academic Affairs Office, Examination Office) and your sender . Please pack very thick work individually.
Deadlines for submission
It is possible to submit an informal and justified individual application for an extension of the processing time for the Master's thesis to the responsible Examination Committee, provided there are reasons for which you are not responsible. To do this, write a letter on your personal header sheet (your personal details such as name, address, telephone number, and the addressee) and state the exact reasons and the period for the desired extension and, if necessary, enclose evidence to support your reasons.
Please submit this application with your signature by e-mail attachment to the Examination Office, it will be forwarded to the Examination Committee for a decision.
Final or certificate documents
As soon as all grades are complete, the final documents (certificate of completion, certificate of grades) will be created and sent by the Examination Office by e-mail. At the same time, the certificate documents (certificate dt/eng, certificate dt/eng, supplement, diploma supplement) are created and sent to the signature round. Once all signatures and seals have been obtained (4-6 weeks), you will receive the certificate documents by post. Please leave your current address in selma.
