DAAD Program "Ukraine Digital"
Since the summer of 2022, the DAAD program line "Ukraine Digital" has supported Ukrainian universities in maintaining, implementing and offering their digital teaching programs. At the same time, refugee Ukrainian students at TU Dresden are offered a virtual platform to continue and complete their ongoing studies in Ukraine.
By involving teachers from the Ukrainian partner university in Germany or other European countries, they are given a perspective to continue teaching digitally at their home university.
Among other things, this program maintains and creates lasting connections that are essential for reconstruction and future German-Ukrainian university cooperation.
On the initiative of the International University Institute (IHI) Zittau, the DAAD project "TU Dresden builds bridges: Application and further development of digital teaching in times of war". In this interdisciplinary project, teaching offers, as well as methods and tools for the virtual space, are developed to support the study in Ukraine in times of war actively. The TU Dresden provides various digital tools (OPAL, BigBlueButton, ZOOM, etc.) for cooperation with Ukrainian partner universities.
The project integration of Ukrainian scientists creates the possibility to continue teaching at Ukrainian home universities in the digital space. "Both at the partner universities included in the application and at TU Dresden, there are many years of experience with digital teaching, which we will develop further and implement in joint digital teaching projects," explains Prof. Thorsten Claus, project manager and director of IHI Zittau.
