Brief Description
The goal of the BegA project is to integrate peer assessment functions into the OPAL learning platform. Peer- and user-generated assessment is said to lead to an increase in learning motivation and learning performance according to various studies. For this purpose, a further development of the OPAL-integrated tool Web-ONYX, which emerged from the ETC project, is to be used for user-generated assessment. With the help of the further developed tool, students will be able to easily create test items related to concrete course content (or their own presentations). These can then be evaluated or answered by fellow students. For this, e.g. points are awarded and at the end of the semester the student (the group) who has collected the most points or developed the best questions (highscore list) is chosen. This highscore list is permanently available, i.e. the current score can always be viewed or is always displayed. For the concrete use of the tool, application scenarios are defined, which are tested in a field trial in teaching. The development and testing of the user-generated assessment approach will be evaluated iteratively by quality assurance measures regarding acceptance and usability.
