Welcome to the Chair of Responsible Management.

At our chair, we engage with the grand challenges of our time: ecological and social transformation, questions of sustainability, and the (political) responsibility of companies and other organizations. We approach these issues through a distinctly interdisciplinary perspective, drawing on insights from the natural sciences, economics, business administration, sociology, philosophy, and political science.

A central feature of our work is close collaboration with international partners. We are regularly involved in transdisciplinary projects where scholars work hand in hand with governmental organizations, NGOs, businesses, and other societal stakeholders to develop theories, concepts, and tools for managing transformation processes. In doing so, we combine academic excellence with practice-oriented knowledge transfer.

Our ambition is twofold: to contribute to the advancement of theoretical approaches within our academic disciplines, and at the same time to generate tangible societal impact by actively supporting transformation processes and fostering sustainable development.
