55. Kraftwerkstechnisches Kolloquium "Safe and Clean Energy" in Dresden on 10th and 11th of October 2023
Discussion with German Green Party Leader Ricarda Lang and Saxony's Minister-President Michael Kretschmer
How can the energy supply in Germany function safely and with clean energy? As clear as the question is, as complex are the answers. At the 55th Kraftwerkstechnisches Kolloquium on 10th and 11th of October 2023 at the International Congress Center Dresden, speakers from various disciplines will provide impulses for possible answers in 95 plenary lectures and speeches. Launched more than half a century ago as an exchange platform for power plant technology, the congress has developed into an important congress for the energy sector in Germany with almost 1.000 participants from science and industry. The colloquium will be opened on 10th of October by Prof. Michael Beckmann, holder of the Chair of Energy Process Engineering at the TUD Dresden University of Technology, who is the scientific director of the colloquium together with Prof. Antonio Hurtado, holder of the Chair of Hydrogen and Nuclear Energy Technology at the TUD.
As a prelude and to assess the status quo, Michael Kretschmer, Prime Minister of the Free State of Saxony, Ricarda Lang, Leader of the German Green Party (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) and member of the German Bundestag and Prof. Veronika Grimm, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and member of the German Council of Economic Experts, will discuss the topic "Spreading risks or friend-shoring: How do we secure Germany's supply of clean energy?". In two hours, the topic will be how energy supply should function in future from a climate and economic policy point of view and who are the possible partners in this - within Europe and the world.
