The Student Computing Center prepares young computer scientists for the future
The Student Computing Center (SRZ) at TUD Dresden University of Technology is a great opportunity for students to test their technical knowledge, learn new things from different areas of computer science and try them out in practice.
Over 100 pupils take advantage of the courses on offer every year:
In the "Discovering Digital Worlds" courses, those interested in computers from grade 5 onwards are given an easy introduction to the various fields of computer science and electronics. The "Computer Science and Electronics Plus" courses are designed for advanced students from year 7 onwards. For experts, there are courses on "Preparing for university and career orientation", which provide an insight into a specific topic.
In the "Components and Circuits " course, those interested in technology learn about simple components and circuits. The knowledge acquired is applied in many experiments and two small projects to take home. In the "Computers, secrets and programs" course, the first steps of programming with the Python language and the basics of encryption and decryption methods are taught and the structure of computers and the hardware in the PC is shown.
Course registrations can be made by telephone or via the online form on the website(www.srz.tu-dresden.de) of the Student Computing Center
