Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems on the data tracks
Scientific excellence paired with societal responsibility is important to the members of the Faculty of Computer Science. From September 20 to 22, the Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems will be participating in Datenspuren in Dresden with two contributions: GNU Taler: Taler(https://taler.net) is a digital payment system, free and open-source. Taler guarantees the anonymity of the payer and at the same time maps transactions transparently. The Chair is researching its use in the Internet of Things. This year, for the first time, it will be possible to pay with Taler on the data trails thanks to the participation of TU Dresden.
RIOT(https://riot-os.org) is a free open-source operating system for low-resource devices in the Internet of Things that was co-founded by members of the chair. RIOT enables plurality and diversity. At Datenspuren, participants can gain practical experience with RIOT as part of a hands-on tutorial.
Datenspuren is an annual event organized by the Chaos Computer Club Dresden that focuses on technology and society. It is taking place for the 20th time this year, this time at the Zentralwerk in Dresden Pieschen. Admission is free for all visitors. Further information can be found at https://datenspuren.de/2024/.
The activities of the Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems are supported in several research projects by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
