Lessons Learned #8: Register now for the Conference on University Teaching at TU Dresden!
From July 1 to 3, 2026, the eighth edition of the “Lessons Learned” Fokus Conference will take place at the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering at TU Dresden —a forum for exchanging ideas on new, digital concepts in higher education. Registration is still open!
Since its launch in September 2020, the conference series has evolved from an internal exchange within the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering into a Germany-wide gathering for instructors who want to share their experiences, successes—and even failures—in higher education and learn from one another.
The presentations from Lessons Learned 2025 are available on YouTube.
Topics for 2026: AI in Teaching and Maker Education
This year’s conference will focus on two interactive workshops and a plenary presentation:
Workshops (select upon registration):
- Technical Competencies in the Age of AI: Which competencies do we still need to teach today—and how? Analysis and integration into appropriate teaching/learning formats.
- AI Agents in Teaching: How can AI agents support instructors and students—especially as tutor resources become scarcer?
Plenary Presentation: Dr. Ann-Katrin Krebs (RWTH Aachen) will introduce the concept of maker education —a modern teaching format that reignites student creativity and hands-on work in an era of growing AI use.
All contributions will be published in the Lessons Learned Journal —fully open access, free of charge for authors and readers.
