Autumn School “Chemistry, Physics & Devices of Organic 2D Crystals"
Following the symposium, a two-day Autumn School will take place on October 9–10, 2025, specifically aimed at PhD students and early-career researchers seeking to deepen their knowledge of synthetic organic 2D crystals. The practice-oriented program, consisting of seven thematic tutorials, offers valuable training, active discussion, and opportunities for in-depth exchange:
"Best Practice Synthesis"
Dr. Auras, Prof. Dr. Plietker
"Simulations of 2D Crystals & their Properties in Comparison to Experiments: How to Properly Interact between Experiment & Theory"
Dr. Friedrich, Dr. Kuc
"Data Science: From Materials Databases to Scalable Machine Learning"
Dr. Cangi, Dr. Friedrich
"Spectroscopy: Data Analysis & Interpretation Strategies for 2D Materials"
Prof. Dr. Brunner, Prof. Dr. Weidinger
"Microscopy: Data Analysis & Interpretation Strategies for 2D Materials"
Dr. Hermes, Prof. Dr. Lubk
“Evaluating 2D Materials for Energy Conversion/Storage Application”
Dr. Nia, Dr. Wang, Dr. Yu
"From Research Chaos to Data Control: Best Practices & Effective Research Data Management Strategies”
Dr. Dockhorn
In addition to the scientific tutorials, a special skills training session titled "From Academia to Industry" and a small career fair will be offered. The skills training, led by Heidi Störr (Push Your Career – Career Consultancy), and the career fair are designed to provide young researchers with initial insights into potential career paths outside of academia and to prepare them effectively for entering the job market.
