Meeting of the jury for the award of the Gisela and Erwin Foundation prizes

The meeting of the jury for the awarding of the Gisela and Erwin Sick Foundation prizes took place on 3 April 2023. The awards event will take place on 5 May 2023.

SICK AG, founded by Dr Erwin Sick, is a manufacturer of intelligent and innovative sensors in the fields of factory, logistics and process automation. To promote engineering and natural sciences, the Gisela and Erwin Sick Foundation endows a doctoral prize at the TUD on the topic of measurement technology.

In awarding the University Prize of the Gisela and Erwin Sick Foundation, particular emphasis is placed on scientific progress and the relevance of the research results for practical measurement tasks, especially in process, factory or logistics automation, biomedicine and environmental protection.

The Sick Measurement Technology Prize is endowed with 5,000 euros and is awarded for an outstanding dissertation. Eligible for submission are papers written at the TUD that have been assessed with the grades "very good" or "excellent / distinction". Furthermore, the date of the defence may not be more than two years before the end of the submission period.
