The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress took place in Munich from August 28 to 31. This year’s focus was on artificial intelligence.
Dr. Martin Schmidt and Alexander Hammer from IBMT were in attendance. It was impressive to see where technological advances are already having an impact on clinical practice and where there is still potential and obstacles to overcome. There were fascinating presentations on the latest developments from our EU project TIMELY, delivered by our research partner Prof. Dr. Boris Schmitz, as well as insights from Dresden on the treatment of aortic valve stenosis by Prof. Axel Linke (Dresden Heart Center GmbH University Hospital) and on regulatory aspects of AI agents in medicine by Prof. Stephen Gilbert (Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health).
