Advanced Seminar / Project: Photonic Measurement Systems Technology
This seminar covers topics in measurement systems technology. (Nobel Prizes in the fields of optics and lasers)
Electrical Engineering degree program: “Advanced Seminar in Measurement System Technology” is the sole course in the module of the same name. (Lectures/Seminars/Practicals: 0/2/0, 9th semester)
Mechatronics degree program: “Advanced Seminar in Measurement Systems Technology” is the sole course for the module of the same name. (Lecture/Seminar/Practicum: 0/2/0, 8th semester)
All students (Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, etc.) are eligible to enroll in this course. The exam may also be taken as a standalone course.
Seminar, Winter Semester 2026/2027
Weekly seminar presentations by internal and external Advisors will be held.
The seminar begins on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

Grading
Electrical Engineering Degree Program: For the seminar paper, each student must give a 30-minute presentation (20 minutes presentation + 10 minutes discussion) and each group must submit a 6-page paper (2 pages per group member).
The template for the report can be found here: LaTeX (zipped), PDF.
The module grade consists of 1/3 of the presentation grade and 2/3 of the report grade.
Mechatronics degree program: Each student must give a 30-minute presentation (20 minutes of presentation + 10 minutes of discussion) on the seminar paper.
The module grade is based on the presentation grade.
Physics Degree Program: Physics students also have the option of earning a certificate. The goal is to teach techniques for preparing and delivering a scientific presentation. The presentation should be prepared and delivered toward the end of the lecture period. A term paper is not required in this case. A certificate of successful participation will be issued. Supervision is provided by staff members of the Chair of Measurement and
Sensor Systems Engineering.
