Prof. Dr. Thomas Härtling
Professor for Nanotechnology and Nanosensors
Prof. Härtling received his PhD in physics from University of Technology Dresden (TUD), Germany in 2008. He was appointed as Professor for Nanotechology and Nanosensors in 2018. In parallel, we has been with Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems since 2010 where he currently is the division director for Industrial Solutions. Between 2020 and 2023 he worked as the founding director of the Fraunhofer Portugal Center for Advanced Water, Energy and Resource Management AWAM in Vila Real, Portugal. His research interests circle around nanomaterial-based sensor and measurement technologies for integrated process monitoring in industrial production, biotechnology, environmental technology, and energy applications. On the other hand, he is interested in data-driven innovations and business models based on novel sensors and data sources.
