Presentation at the workshop "Atmospheric plasmas in complex processes - intelligent combination"
At the international workshop "Atmospheric plasmas in complex processes - intelligent combination" organized by INNOVENT E e.V., Wikentij Koshukow presented his current research results in a poster session last week. The work is part of his activities as an associate member of the RTG 2868 Research Training Group and in the context of his doctorate, which deals with the interaction of plasma applications with various process chains in manufacturing technology.
The focus of the presented contribution was the plasma pretreatment of metal surfaces for the production of metal-plastic composites in the overmolding process. The aim is to improve the adhesion between the different materials in a targeted manner in order to realize capabilities and permanently stable multi-material systems. Temperature management within highly automated process chains poses a particular challenge here - a key aspect when it comes to transferability to industrial scales.
Such approaches offer great potential for industry in particular: they enable new lightweight construction concepts and open up ways for more efficient, more sustainable production processes in the fields of mobility, electronics and medical technology.
The presentation met with great interest among the workshop participants. The topic of atmospheric plasma treatment was discussed in depth in numerous technical discussions - a good opportunity for scientific exchange, the transfer of knowledge and the establishment of international networks.
