An introduction to our Chair

Welcome to the Chair of Didactics of Computer Science!
Our main activities comprise providing specialist education to students training to become teachers of computer science, conducting research in the field of computer science didactics and digitalization in the context of (teacher) education – especially in schools and extracurricular acquisition of computer science skills – as well as online services and how to design these. The Chair of Didactics of Computer Science is active in the German Computer Science Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik).

The Pupil Computing Center (Schülerrechenzentrum) Dresden supports school pupils who are gifted in computer science and electronics.

An overview of our teaching and projects

The Chair of Didactics of Computer Science offers courses for:

  • Full-time students training to teach computer science in secondary schools (Oberschule and Gymnasium) and vocational schools
  • Graduates of other subjects training to become teachers of computer science
  • Students training to become teachers of other subjects
  • Students of Media Computer Science
