eReflector: A Framework for Implementing Self-Energy-Adaptive Software
Complex internship (SS 14) - Organisation
News
- 04/07/2014 The kick-off meeting will be on Friday 04/11/2014 at 13:00- 14:30 in the room 2101.
Motivation
Self-adaptive software (SAS) can adapt its behavior and/or structure according to the changes in its environment to fulfill desired quality attributes. A novel application of SAS is in the domain of green computing, where software must adapt itself to reduce its energy consumption.
During last decade, several dedicated solutions for developing SAS has been introduced, but it has been recently claimed that the time for such dedicated solutions is over. There is, instead, a need for generic implementation frameworks and languages to program diverse kinds of SAS in a modular way, and to integrate multiple SAS with each other.
Ziele
In this Komplexpraktikum, we would like to develope eReflector as the first framework for implementing diverse kinds of SAS for the domain of green computing. The framework is based on a novel modularization and composition mechanism named as event-based modularization, and well as state of the art database techniques for handling massive amount of energy-related sensor data that exist in the HAEC(Highly Adaptive Energy-efficient Computing) project.
Voraussetzungen
Students are expected to be familiar w
- Java programming language
- The concepts of relational databases
