The general task of the exercise is to write your own research paper of at least 5 pages focusing on an arbitrary topic within computer science. The paper should utilize the academic skills acquired throughout the course.
Important Dates
Your paper must be submitted until 14th of Juli 2017 (AoE) by sending it to both thomas.kuehn3@tu-dresden.de and karsten.wendt@tu-dresden.de. Afterwards, you’ll get two individual reviews on your submission. Finally, after including the recommended suggestions from both reviews, the final camera ready version is due to 28th of Juli 2017 (AoE).
Format
The paper should use the ACM SIGPLAN Conference Format acmart
, 10 point font, with the font family Times New Roman. All submitted papers should be in PDF
format. If you use LaTeX or Word, please use the provided ACM SIGPLAN Templates provided here. Otherwise, follow the author instructions.
For students using LaTeX, you will need to use the acmart
LaTeX class, with the sigplan
option in the template. Note that submissions should have a 10 point font. If you are formatting your paper using Word, you may wish to use the provided Word template that supports this font size. Please include page numbers in your paper. Adding the line \settopmatter{printfolios=true}
after the \documentclass
command generates page numbers. Please also ensure that your paper is legible when printed on a black and white printer. In particular, please check that colors remain distinct and font sizes are legible.
Examination
In general, ASiCS requires an oral exam, however, if you only want to get credit points for the ASiCS exercise, you need to submit the paper and, additionally, give a 20 minutes presentation of your paper. Furthermore, both the ASiCS lecture and exercise can be used for DSE-2014-E13.
