Our Mission
Teaching and research at the Chair of Databases - the Dresden Database Research Group - is focussing on expanding data management methods as well as optimizing the system relevant implementation of database management systems.
Thus, the general goal of our research is to develop database management systems to become a central integration and analysis platform. The numerous research projects pursue this goal in a variety of ways, for example by research on HW/SW CoDesign as well as by modelling large complex structures and processes in application scenarios.
The aim of teaching is to lay a solid foundation regarding basic knowledge as well as to introduce students to more advanced topics of data management and analytical evaluation up to hardware oriented optimization.
The research group is commited to the concept of ethical research and is therefore following the principles of Open Science - from Open Access up to Open Source and Open Data. If there are no restrictions regarding external IP regulations, research results are thus being made available to the public.
