TEDxDresden
Our Thorsten Strufe is invited to give a talk at TEDxDresden - "The social turn". His talk is entitled "Why we shouldn't give up on diversity (and privacy) on the Web, just yet", and deals with the disruptive changes to some cultural practices, which come with the side-effect of perfect observability - and the threat of dragnet surveillance - which is known to create self-censorship, thus threatening innovation and democracy.
TED is "...a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world." (from https://ted.com).
The slides of the talk can be downloaded at this link (pdf, 5MB).
