In my research, I focus on the anonymization and privacy of continuous data streams. Such data streams arise, for example, in sensor networks such as smart metering environments. Special characteristics, such as regular updates, create new attack vectors that must be taken into account in solution approaches. I also try to take into account the fact that such systems usually have a distributed architecture  and transfer existing central algorithms to the decentralized system.

Possible project ideas:

• How can we modularize anonymization processes? How can we integrate anonymization algorithms into data pipelines?

• Realization of anonymization processes in distributed systems with constrained resources

• How can we leverage probabilistic data structures for distributed systems?

• Synthetic data generators (and federated learning)
