Portrait of Professor Bühler
Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Katja Bühler has held the Chair of Productive Biofilm Technology since December 2015 as a joint appointment with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research UFZ in Leipzig. She was born in Hamburg in 1973.
Without productive biofilms ... there would be no natural vinegar.
For me, being a professor... means teaching, researching and contributing to the formation of public opinion in equal measure.
Students ... mercilessly remind me that I am getting older and older.
In the future ... the disciplines will move closer together and interdisciplinary research will become increasingly important.
If I could study again, I would ... study geography and geosciences. However, I'm not at all sure whether I would study again.
Excellence ... is for me the joint development of meaningful knowledge per time spiced with a portion of fun.
