Programme published: The 27th International Dresden Lightweight Engineering Symposium presents eight exciting sessions

In an era characterized by dynamically evolving economic markets and an increasing need for sustainable developments, over 350 international experts from the scientific, industrial and political sectors will meet on June 13^th and 14^th, 2024. At the International Dresden Lightweight Engineering Symposium, Talent Saxony GmbH, together with the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) at TU Dresden and the Akademischer Club Leichtbau an der TU Dresden e.V. (ACL), will present Europe on the one hand and India on the other as leading players in the global market for lightweighting. Under the motto "Neutral Lightweight Engineering - Resilience through Technology Sovereignty", a powerful forum for groundbreaking discussion and joint measures to shape a future-oriented lightweight engineering industry is being created. The symposium emphasizes the urgency of innovations in materials, technologies and systems in the face of progressive megatrends such as digitalization, sustainability, urbanization, connectivity and mobility. In this context, lightweight system construction plays a decisive role, particularly in order to meet the needs of a constantly growing world population.

This year's partner country of the symposium is the most populous country in the world: India. It presents itself as an attractive center for research and development in the field of composite materials. The country addresses global problems such as sustainable mobility and energy production in a growing and prospering population. One concrete way to reduce environmental pollution is the use of lightweight engineering methods, which will be presented and discussed at the symposium.
